BIOGRAPHY

NO AGE is Randy Randall and Dean Spunt - two heavyweights from the LA punk / skate / art underworld, who previously performed as two thirds of that punked DIY machine, WIVES.

Formed in December 2005, following an incendiary final WIVES tour - it ended with a trip to A&E in Islington, London - Randy and Dean bring the world back to their room with a completely fresh approach in NO AGE. In the words of the New York Times...

"NO AGE have a rude energy, but the music is emptier than with WIVES and more mysterious... Mr Spunt sang and smacked the rim of his snare drum, while Mr Randall picked out some broken chords. Then it shifted - Mr Randall tapped an octave pedal, transforming his spidery guitar line into a burly, propulsive bass line."

'GET HURT'

Get Hurt | Neck Escapah

UTR011 | 12" | 6 tracks, 13 mins | 26 Mar 2007 | Buy

'Get Hurt' is NO AGE's debut release proper - the first in a series of 5 vinyl only EPs released in the spring of 2007 via Upset The Rhythm, Deleted Art, Teardrops, Youth Attack and the band's own PPM imprint. Highlights of these EPs were later compiled by Fat Cat under the 'Weirdo Rippers' moniker, while the band's first album 'Nouns' was released by Sub Pop in May 2008.

The six songs that comprise 'Get Hurt' act as an emphatic calling card, showcasing the distinctive NO AGE sound perfectly. A crashing collision of sweetly shouted ditties, ecstatic crunch feedback and violent bouts of percussion, the record is abound with pop songs fighting to break through a mist of white fuzz.

Originally limited to 1000 copies on sky blue and white vinyl, a second pressing is out now on super heavyweight kelly green wax.
